Hewell Bowling Club is a friendly flat green bowling club with approximately 100 members. The club is affiliated to both Worcestershire Bowling Association and Bowls England. We have excellent facilities with a clubhouse, bar, a new pavilion incorporating changing facilities and most importantly a bowling green that we are extremely proud of.

Our membership is currently closed as we have reached our capacity. When membership re-opens we will welcome new members again, both those with some experience of bowling and complete beginners who are looking for a sociable and competitive sport that is played by all ages. We have several qualified coaches who will help newcomers to bowling learn the basics of the game.

If you want to play competitive bowls then Hewell has two mixed teams in triples leagues on Monday evenings, three mixed teams on Tuesday evenings, and a Mens and Ladies team that compete in their respective Concorde Leagues, usually on a Saturday afternoon. We also run more than a dozen club competitions through the season culminating in our finals weekend at the end of the season.

But it isn't just about competitive bowling. We have regular friendly fixtures against other clubs, usually on Thursday and Sunday afternoons, and also run an organised club 'roll up' for all members on a Wednesday afternoon and Friday evening..........so there is plenty of bowling taking place every week.

We even run short mat bowling on Wednesdays and Fridays through the close season.

We are a really friendly crowd and run a number of social events throughout the season including a bingo night, fun night with indoor and outdoor games, quiz night and a Christmas dinner.

Having been founded by the Earl of Plymouth in 1914, we celebrated our centenary in 2014.

Come along and give us a try.
